Using the full-scale drawing
as a guide, Jiménez and his assistant make a steel
armature using reinforcing bars, such as those used to construct
cement buildings and bridges. They then cover the rebar with
a heavy wire mesh. The mesh holds the oil-based clay, called
plasticine, that Jiménez applies by the fist full.
Here we see inside the middle section of the Mustang that
Jiménez is making for the Denver airport.
