My work consists of personal and cultural imagery that I have been exploring
over time, an expression that is rooted in self-determination and a contemporary
Chicana worldview. Themes in my art recall pre-Columbia concepts of duality
as well as more historical and autobiographical references, including issues
related to a womans perspective. Also depicted are the spirituality,
politics, and symbolism that reflect bicultural reality.
I prefer to work both in printmaking (lithography, serigraphy, etc.) and watercolor,
In my approach I try to create a continuity between these media in terms of
themes, expression, colors, and at times technique.
