Vida Silvestre, located in Ixtapaluca, Mexico, is to the knowledge of the Resplendent Quetzal project, the only place in the world where resplendent quetzals are bred successfully, and seemingly contentedly, under controlled conditions. Visitors, who are welcome at the facility, can encounter many different kinds of rare birds, such as exotic pheasants, cracids, parrots, macaws, cockatoos, hornbills, birds of prey, owls, and quetzals.
