Museo del Jade Fidel Tristán

The world-famous Museo de Jade in San José, Costa Rica, displays the largest collection of jade in the Americas, with most artifacts dating from 500 BC to 800 AD. The majority of items are pendants carved into human and animal figures. Of particular interest to this project are those that appear to be quetzals and other neotropical birds that had cultural and religious significance. The museum also has an extensive collection of pre-Columbian polychrome pottery.
