The conservator recommends washing,
sun drying, and hand wiping the surface and mechanically removing
any remaining soil by hand with small tools.
Once the surface is clean and any restorations
are completed, he recommends applying a wax coat to the entire
surface, such as that used on fiberglass car bodies and pleasure
boats.
And finally he recommends that before
and after photographs be taken to document the changing condition
of the sculpture.
