Luis Jiménez worked for over
five years developing his image for the Southwest Pieta.
This sculpture was commissioned by
the City of Albuquerque and the National Endowment for the
Arts to be installed in a city park.
The intended location for the sculpture
was near the historic Old Town district of Albuquerque.
Ultimately it was installed in
Martineztown, a Mexican-American neighborhood.
